Anyway, he will go onto his reward soon. His daughter Kate asks us to offer him "comments letting him know how much you've enjoyed your relationship with him, and that it is okay to let go, and go on to the next life experience, whatever it may be." Chuck is fighting to stay alive because there are those in his assisted living home who want him to hold on so that they can give him a 4th of July party, and Chuck is conflicted on what to do. My friend, Shannon made an entry on June 10th asking for prayers because I was hospitalized unbeknowest to me until I read the comments in my journal. Thank you Shannon. I became very ill the weekend before last. Ended up in the my drs. office (she has a mini ER with 2 beds - urgent care) and was given 2 bags of IV fluids and meds cuz of dehydration because I couldn't keep anything down. Ended up in the ER late Monday night/Tuesday morning again. Was admitted for pneumonia, gasteroentiritis, possible gallbladder problems, dizziness and dehydration. I also had severe heartburn because of a hiatal hernia. Discharged Friday morning, my brother and his wife get into a serious car accident Friday afternoon after a woman rammed into them out of nowhere spinning both cars 3x and ending up in the ditch leaving my 17 yr. old nephew at home who calls me all upset and doesn't have a way to the hospital cuz his car is in the shop. They were making a left turn and traffic had yielded when the woman decided not to stop and wait and drove in the right lane hitting them while they were turning. They live 1.5 hrs. away. We have no idea which Brookwood hospital they're in (there are many) and called their cells leaving several messages for them to call back. All we could do was wait because they live in the big city with many hospitals. I couldn't ride that far anyway because I was still lightheaded. They have 20 witnesses and the woman got the ticket and she DIDN'T even get hurt. Brother & wife were taken away in ambulances. Their car is totaled. They just bought it 2 mos. ago. We called 3 Brookwood ER's and they said they had no one by the name of Cook. Come to find out, they were at one of the hospitals we called. Anyway after 5 hrs., my brother calls. He injured his shoulder and knee and is bruised from the seatbelt. His wife ended up with a sprained ankle, twisted back, whiplash and internal bruising and bruising from the seatbelt. She's in a soft cast. Saturday morning, I clean the garden tub then I get in it to shave my legs. I slipped and fell on my right knee breaking my big toe with my left knee hanging out of the tub hitting the faucet knob. Even after left knee surgery 11 mos. ago, I still have problems with it. Ended up going to the ER AGAIN for the 3rd time in a week after that. I get same nurse as before but different dr. Nurse says "you're back again?" When did you get discharged??? I tell nurse yesterday. LOL Both knees and legs are bruised and very swollen, I can hardly walk. The left one is the size of a football. I hurt my left knee that was hanging out worse than the right. I have appt. Thursday to see my foot dr. again to check my orthotics. I still have problems with my right foot and ankle from the 2 breaks/sprain 9 mos. ago. Wait til he hears about my tub accident. LOL It doesn't feel funny but I have to laugh because it was SO stupid. LOL I'm such a klutz! I've always been accident prone. I've had 13 broken bones (1 of them 4x.....another one 3.....the rest separate...lol). Then of course, family came over for Father's Day including Becca, a foster child we have taken under our wing She has hurt her foot also. What a scene.......brother, his wife, Becca and I are all hobbling around. ROFOLOL I might as well been with my brother and wife. LOL

Merry is in a flood area

If you can, stop by and visit Merry of Merry's thoughts, the good and bad, dreams and wishes. She is caught in a flood. Her basement is rising with water, and there is no running water in her house for drinking, etc. While she and her husband will probably not have to evacuate, many belongings are ruined, and water continues to rise each time it rains.

Merry asks that nobody please tell her to "cheer up".

She doesn't want those in an okay situation to say everything will be okay, but rather she would like others to empathize with her. She is going through a very hard time right now, and wishes others would note that. I understand where Merry is coming from. When I have gone through hard times others have said "cheer up, everything will be fine". That is not what I needed. That is not what Merry needs either.

Jlander Hospitalized

I hope I'm doing this right. Prayers are needed for Dana at http://journals.aol.com/heavenlybama/journey-to-success. She has several medical conditions which from Friday through Sunday evening, she thought was where her pain was coming from. She became worse with other symptoms especially abdominal and chest pain. She went to the ER last last night and was hospitalized. She does have pneumonia and is very dehydrated. They are doing tests today to figure out her abdominal problems. She hasn't been able to keep anything down. They have ruled out appendicitis.

Facture in Back

Mark and I had a wondeful time while he was home. But two days before his return to Iraq, we had a car accident. At first, the doctor thought I had factured my back. But it turned out to be a very back sprain. It was after my husband returned to Iraq that we learned it was a hair-line fracture in the middle of my back. I am in a brace and start PT this week. Pray for healing (lots of pain) and my beloved's and his unit safe return.

She Could Use Some Love

MJ from the journal "From the Edge of Dementia" could use our support right now, she's going through a lot of depression due to the MS. She's been a wonderful friend to so many of us here in J-land , I'm hoping everyone will go visit and let her know she's important and loved by us. At the moment she isn't sure she wants to even write in her journal anymore. I'm hoping with enough of us showing some support and love she will be encouraged to keep writing, even if she doesn't feel she has anything to offer.

MJ has offered so much of herself to me, I truly wish she knew what a beautiful spirit she has. I don't see the MS when she writes, I see a human being that is hurting and confused where the road may now lead. Life may of changed the rules when it comes to her disease but it didn't change the way I care for her and cherish her friendship. I'm pretty sure she is probably going to kill me for this; I just want her to know just how many of us DO value her.(Hugs) Indigo

I have been to Lisa's journal, today, and having battled high blood pressure all my life, was fully alarmed at her yesterday's reading, she has not posted today. And in the interest of also writing the good news as well as the bad I want to just celebrate Lisa's strength of character. I watched all her videos taken of herself the last few days in the attempt to let her J-land friends know what is happening, and I actually had to smile and sometimes laugh right out loud at Lisa's infectious sense of humor, which I kid you not emerged in these videos. Seeing these videos of her actually gave me a lift. Her giggle is still intact. She talks to the dog who is concerned. But the last video was heartbreaking, showing how swollen even her face is becoming. I do pray for Lisa for she has taken us all into her heart, showing us her family, celebrating the birth of her second grandson, letting us share her joy and love of life. Beautiful Lisa!
